  87. While the question asked related to rfi to auto computer equipment,
  88. I figure that there is one other point to be made...
  89.  
  90. When connecting to the 12 volt system of a car, its *real*good*
  91. pratice to get as close to the battery as possible. Generaly,
  92. I,ve done this by using a Burndy clamp to make the splice on
  93. the cable as it comes from the battery. "Split bolt" type 
  94. clamps also work and bith should be in stock at electrical 
  95. contactor or their suppy houses. These ar used for high current
  96. applications in industrial applications and elsewhere.

  248. The last school group contact was completed yesterday.  The Portsmouth HS 
  249. in Portsmouth, New Hampshire had a telebridge contact using stations in 
  250. California (Ralph Warner, N6MNN) and Texas (Bob Douglas, W5GEL).  The 
  251. students asked 5 questions during this bridge contact.
  252.  
  253. Hams across the U.S. and around the world continue to work the Shuttle 
  254. Columbia on both voice and packet.  Moreover, the completion of school 
  255. group contacts has cleared several school backup passes for possible 
  256. general QSO opportunities.  While the SAREX Working Group cannot fully 
  257. guarantee availability, there is a high probability that the STS-58 crew 
  258. will be ready to take general calls over the continental U.S. on these 
  259. passes.  Two of these "scheduled" passes remain.  These include orbit 
  260. 178 at MET 11 days 1 hour 42 minutes (10/29 at 16:35 UTC) and orbit 192 
  261. at MET 11 days 22 hours and 29 minutes (10/30 at 13:22 UTC).  Please note 
  262. that the astronauts operated voice during yesterday's "scheduled" pass 
  263. which occurred on 10/27 at 14:59 UTC (Orbit 145).  Also note that hams on 
  264. the ground heard or worked the Shuttle Columbia crew on several other orbits 
  265. yesterday.

  454. The last school group contact was completed yesterday.  The Portsmouth HS 
  455. in Portsmouth, New Hampshire had a telebridge contact using stations in 
  456. California (Ralph Warner, N6MNN) and Texas (Bob Douglas, W5GEL).  The 
  457. students asked 5 questions during this bridge contact.

  459. Hams across the U.S. and around the world continue to work the Shuttle 
  460. Columbia on both voice and packet.  Moreover, the completion of school 
  461. group contacts has cleared several school backup passes for possible 
  462. general QSO opportunities.  While the SAREX Working Group cannot fully 
  463. guarantee availability, there is a high probability that the STS-58 crew 
  464. will be ready to take general calls over the continental U.S. on these 
  465. passes.  Two of these "scheduled" passes remain.  These include orbit 
  466. 178 at MET 11 days 1 hour 42 minutes (10/29 at 16:35 UTC) and orbit 192 
  467. at MET 11 days 22 hours and 29 minutes (10/30 at 13:22 UTC).  Please note
